Ingredients
3/4 cup Avocado Oil
1/4 cup Fresh Lime Juice
3 tablespoons Pure Maple Syrup
1 tablespoon Sweet and Smoky Rub
Directions

1. In medium bowl, whisk oil, lime juice, syrup and rub. Makes about 1 1/4 cups

2. Place 1 1/2 pounds protein to be marinated in large zip-top plastic bag; pour marinade into bag. Seal bag, pressing out excess air; massage in bag to coat. Refrigerate at least 1 or up to 4 hours

3. Remove protein from marinade; discard marinade

4. Smoky Maple Marinade can be used for grilled or broiled chicken, pork chops, ribs, salmon or trout, or tossed with sweet potatoes, apples and onions and roasted as a side dish. Marinade Template: Marinades can be made following a simple ratio of 3 parts oil (such as olive, walnut, avocado or coconut), 1 part acid (such as vinegar or fresh citrus juice), 1/2 part sweetener (such as maple syrup, agave or brown sugar) and 1/4 part seasonings/spices (such as bbq rub, herb seasoning, curry powder or steak seasoning, including salt and pepper). You can adjust amounts based on the flavors you are emphasizing, for example, Smoky Maple Marinade has a bit more maple syrup.
